As I always do. This is a rather random rant.

Between the arts and sports, sports always wins.
What is it about sports that's so compelling? 
Okay yes it is pretty interesting, but the arts can open up your mind.
It can give you a different perspective.
Sports is, I guess, inspirational. But what else? 

And between the arts, there is the visual kind, and uhm, moving kind? 
Like dance and music, I don't know what they're called.
So, between the two of that, dance and music always wins.
It's probably the fact that people don't have to be experts to enjoy it,
it's something that appeals easily to the heart and to the human instinct.
It's a kind of art form that makes you feel the energy.

Then there's the least appreciated, the visual arts.
Okay, the main reason I'm writing something like this was because of MusicFest.
As I was watching the performances, which were great, of course, I was wondering why isn't there a platform for painters and illustrators to showcase their art, if musicians,singers and dancers have the opportunity to showcase their talent? 
Maybe people think there are plenty of opportunities for visual artists? Okay come to think of it, the only opportunity I can think of is like making class shirts. And really, is that even considered an opportunity? 

For most people, they see an illustration or a piece of art, and they go "Ooh, pretty" or mostly "Uh, I don't get it"
People tend to be extremely judgemental of drawings. Saying things like "That looks kinda disproportionate" or "That hand is funky-looking" and more. This list is not exhaustive.
Yeah I get it, constructive criticism. But sometimes, it's called STYLE. It is the artist's way of depicting how they view things.
It's as if whenever we want to draw, let's say, a girl, it has to look realistic, otherwise it is shit.
I'm tired and scared of hearing stuff like that. When you've put your heart into the drawing, and feeling good and excited about it, can you imagine someone saying that about your art? It. Sucks.
A piece of art to an artist is really very personal. Saying it looks horrible because you have not opened your mind to the possibilities of other styles of art and appreciated them is saying to them, "That drawing is wrong. Your thinking is wrong. Your ideas are wrong. You're wrong." 
Really, there is no right or wrong in art. There's only passion and love for what you are doing.

I've kind of sidetracked from my main purpose, which is to protest the lack of opportunities for artists.
Amateur artists can be kinda shy, ya know? 
Displaying your art to people in real life ( not the internet, the internet is fine) can come across as kind of arrogant for both the viewers and the artist. Might not appear so, but that's what I feel though.
Yet, not displaying the art, it's just not what it's about. Art is for sharing, after all.

I've written way more than I thought I would, and so now my thoughts are making no sense, and before I say retarded things, I shall stop here.
That's the good thing about blogging, you can stop when you think you're being retarded, and even backtrack!
This bad habit of being retarded accounts for many awkward moments and silences that I've experienced in real time, where there is sadly no delete button.

Couple of years ago, i made a vow to complete my amath 10yr series.
Which I did, and I realised it's not as tough a feat as I thought.

So it's time to up the game, and set crazier goals, which I will complete, and look back on after a few years and realise it's not tough! 
1. Know my effing chemistry like the back of my hand.
    Trends in the Periodic Table? Conditions for prepping alkenes? I need to recall the facts in a blink of an eye! 
2. Complete Ginormous math book
    Do math four days a week! Complete the book, THEN DO IT AGAIN.

Ok this is all I can think of for now.
Meanwhile, stay positive, stay optimistic, take it one step at a time! 

Another year, another birthday.
I guess I'm old, but I don't feel that it's a very special day in itself.

It's the people around me who made it special for me. (:

Despite drawing so close to the CTs, today was a really fun day.
We only had 4 periods of classes, and a longer break! :D
PE was super fun as well, we all laughed alot. What a relief from the studying and all.
We should play Vball as a class again. Soon, soon (:

10s53, I honestly didn't know you all got a cake for me.
Thanks to a certain someone, what could have been a really cool surprise turned out to be FAIL. HAHA.
And while we were 'looking at stuff in the bookstore' I was serenaded with a unique version of 'Happy Birthday'. Still cracks me up when I think of it. :D

Today I have lots to say.

I had a whole post thought out and all, it's true! Believe me.
But in the end it's still not right to, as they say, wash dirty linen in the public.
I'm going to keep all these thoughts in my head; until it can stay there no longer.

Looking back at old photos, and I swear, 4A, you'll be the best class I ever had. (;

Dreary and dry, but necessary, I assure you.
This year has not only been a rollercoaster ride, it's a mash up of all the coasters in Universal Studios, and then some.
Hopefully this post will help me close this year on a satisfying note and serve as a reminder to myself.
As satisfying as it gets when you're at home, watching the free cable channels and switching between facebook and tumblr while writing this post. :\

To know that something you did or said, no matter how small, insignificant or unobservable, that you can't even remember doing it, has helped to comfort or to cheer someone up in their times of difficulty and sadness.
I SERIOUSLY never realised how nice it felt to cheer someone up until I read something somewhere. It's like a bud of good feelings blooming in your heart to be a large pretty flower of good feelings, and hopefully others get to enjoy these good feelings too! Okay it's super cheesy but that's how it feels! 

Moral lesson: Be happy always, or as much as you can be, cause you don't know, you may be cheering someone else up!

I don't get what's with all this hate against Lady Gaga just because of a promo comprehension paper.
Personally I think it's quite a nice gesture for the GP dept to find an article that's relative to our interests so that I don't FALL ASLEEP reading the passage like I do when the passage is about some boring shizz like Science & Tech. Can't stand those boring passages.
I think it might be one of the better compre passages I've had. Can't say the same for the questions though.

Plus I'm not posting this on facebook in case my GP paper screws me up and it'll be quite awkward after all this support of the GP paper. Haha.
